Trails Work Party

Where: Grand Forest West/East, 9752 Miller Rd NE

When: Saturday, Nov. 26 (4th Saturday), 10:00a-12:00p

What: We’ll spend the entire fall working on Grand Forest West and East trails.

Join the Park District Trails team in maintaining the Grand Forest West and East trails. We’ll be returning sections of the course to Class 1 standards, pruning vegetation, raking trail surfaces, and more.

This work party is well suited for children ages 8+ who are comfortable using some small hand tools and walking a mile or so throughout the two-hour work party.

What to bring: We suggest volunteers wear sturdy, close-toed shoes, long pants, and work gloves. Please bring your water bottle. The Park District will provide any tools volunteers need, but feel free to bring your favorite.

Volunteers Under 18: All volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian who can sign them into the event. Unaccompanied minors must bring a signed Parent Authorization Form with them. An adult must accompany all children less than 14 for the entire event.

COVID-19 Requirements/Modifications:

• Per our current Employee and Volunteer COVID 19 Policy;
  • “Outdoor Volunteers do not have to provide proof of vaccination or test results.”
  • “Outdoor Volunteers will follow current federal and state guidelines regarding face coverings.”
• Park staff are keeping close track of current state masking requirements. All registered participants will be aware of masking expectations by email before the event.
• Please note that these requirements may be updated, and any participant who does not wish to comply with a volunteer work party’s COVID safety protocols will be asked to leave.
