DESCRIPTION:The Bainbridge Island Parks & Trails Foundation’s 2026 Community Grants program opens Sept. 1\, with applications due by 5 p.m. Oct. 1. Grants of up to $3\,000 are available for qualifying park\, trail and recreation projects.  \nFind a link to the grant application portal at www.biparksfoundation.org/community-grants.  \nCommunity Grants are awarded to capital improvement projects that enhance our parks\, trails and recreational opportunities. Individuals or clubs that are not nonprofit organizations but want to apply must partner with Bainbridge Metro Parks or City of Bainbridge Island on their project.   \n\nCommunity Grants have funded dozens of user-inspired projects\, from the Eagledale Pottery Studio kiln to sculling oars for Bainbridge Island Rowing\, from youth gymnastics vault apparatus to water polo goals to ADA trail improvements to sand volleyball courts\, to many more. \nContact the Parks & Trails Foundation for assistance in presenting your project idea. We can all make a difference for our environment and wildlife!\n\nSignup to volunteer today!
