Work with the Park District's horticulture staff and the Bainbridge Island Parks & Trails Foundation to maintain garden beds, an historic fruit orchard, edible perennials, and other historic plantings in this former homestead in the heart of downtown. 

Join the Park District, IslandWood, and the Bainbridge Island Parks &Trails Foundation every second Saturday this winter in the ongoing restoration of Blakley Harbor Park

Volunteer with the Park District and our partners every third Saturday in May, June, or July to help improve the trails at Grand Forest West.  Projects could include tread work, improving drainage, or pruning back the spring flush. 

Seeking volunteers to help with the 10th annual Bainbridge Island Beach Cleanup on Sunday, Sept. 20, from 9 am to 12 noon!

Join BI Metro Parks and the Parks & Trails Foundation for  the annual Martin Luther King Jr Day of Service.  From 10a-1p on Monday, Jan. 20, volunteers come together to make this day of service a “day on, not a day off.”

Join the Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial Association, the Bainbridge Island Parks & Trails Foundation, and Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District, for a day of stewardship to remember the 84th anniversary of the signing of Executive Order 9066.

The goal of Earth Month Bainbridge Island is to raise awareness of and encourage involvement in these April 2026 events and to inspire everyone to protect our trees, our environment, and our planet throughout the year. Get involved in the many activities!

Kick off spring with a brand-new community celebration! This free, family-friendly event is packed with entertainment, hands-on activities, and plenty of ways to play, explore, and connect.

Run for the trails! The Trillium Trail Run 10K/5K and Kids Fun Run returns to Bainbridge Island Saturday, May 9, a benefit to acquire, build and maintain new Bainbridge Island trails. 

Celebrate National Trails Day, June 6, with a hike on an island trail – and munch a bag of special Trail Mix, courtesy of the Bainbridge Island Parks & Trails Foundation.
