April is Earth Month on Bainbridge Island 2025. We are celebrating with activities and events for all ages for Earth Day and Arbor Day during the entire month of April and beyond. 

The 2025 Environmental Conference will be Community Science on Bainbridge: learning and preparing for the 2025 City Nature Challenge. Save the Date for Sunday, April 13, 1-4pm at IslandWood! The conference will include an overview of community science, including many local efforts to quantify the biodiversity and natural systems of our own Island; the Environmentalist of the Year award will be presented; and there will be an opportunity to head out on IslandWood’s trails and speak with naturalists to learn about how to participate in the City Nature Challenge to document local biodiversity. Run for the trails! The Trillium Trail Run 10K/5K and Kids Fun Run returns to Bainbridge Island Saturday, May 10, a benefit to acquire, build and maintain new Bainbridge Island trails. 

Join the Park District at Fay Bainbridge Park every second Saturday in May, June, and July to help steward Fay Bainbridge Park during the busy summer months.

Volunteer with the Park District and our partners every third Saturday in May, June, or July to help improve the trails at Grand Forest West.  Projects could include tread work, improving drainage, or pruning back the spring flush.
