We want to share some great news about the Lost Valley Trail and Boardwalk project:

We’re almost there.

The mile-long trail and robust boardwalk connecting the Head of the Bay with Fletcher Bay Road – the nexus of a new cross-island trail route, from Winslow to Gazzam Lake and beyond – is nearly complete. It’s all thanks to the tireless work of the staff of the Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District, Summer Trails Crew and your generous gifts to get us to this point.

Our fundraising goal today: $50,000 in new gifts between now and Sept. 10, to complete funding for this landmark trail. Together, we can do it!

Lost Valley Trail is a watershed achievement for our local trail network. It will push us over the 50-mile mark for public trails on Bainbridge Island. And it will complete our longest east-west trail route – 6.8 miles, from the ferry terminal to Gazzam Lake and Schel Chelb park.

This is an excellent opportunity to give through your DAF, IRA distribution, or gift of stock. Contact Mary Meier, mary@biparksfoundation.org or 206.842.4791, to give through these vehicles.
