The Ordway Otters turned out strong for a Trails Work Party at Grand Forest East this month, under our ParksCorps program.
It was the first of three work parties at Grand Forest East this spring and summer, improving trail tread and drainage, closing off informal “social” trails, and (this being spring) pruning back the burst of trailside “flush.”
The Parks & Trails Foundation was instrumental in saving 39 acres of Grand Forest East last year, and it was great to have the Ordway team step up for trail enhancements that we’ll all enjoy.
ParksCorps bring more stewardship to local parks with incentives for nonprofit organizations. Your club, youth group or nonprofit commits to a work party – pulling invasive weeds, putting in native plants or spreading gravel on trails – and the Parks & Trails Foundation will make a grant to your organization for your time and effort.
