Big thanks to all of you who work with us so tirelessly to help keep our parks and trails enjoyable for everyone – we truly couldn’t do it without your efforts!

We work with the Park District to help bring community together for hundreds of hours of human-powered restoration to our parks and tails.. Volunteers help maintain over thirty miles of island trails, remove noxious weeds and plant native species.  Contact the Park District office at 206-842-2306 ext 118 to talk about opportunities or send us an email at info@biparks.org.

Monday, January 15 Martin Luther King Day of Service   We will be working together to restore beautiful Blakely Harbor Park 10am – 12pm. This project has been an on-going multi-year effort and thanks to the help of volunteers and community support we have made significant progress. On Martin Luther King Jr Day, work will focus on the removal of English ivy, Himalayan blackberry, and other invasive plant species in “Phase 2” of Blakely Harbor and along the meadow (Country Club Road). Please join Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District, the Bainbridge Island Parks Foundation, IslandWood, Weed Warriors, and Seattle Children’s Hospital on this Day of Service in giving back to our public spaces. The Park District will be providing tools and equipment but supplies are limited, so feel free to bring your own tools. Parking can be found in a small lot off Country Club Road, along the street just beyond the intersection of Country Club Road and Blakely Ave, and further down Blakely Ave by 3T Road. You will find our home base tent in the meadow just up Country Club Road off the intersection off Blakely Ave.

Everyone is welcome, if you would like to bring a large group please RSVP to emilyh@biparks.org.

We welcome helpers of all ages and abilities.
