The Stewards Circle

BE A LEADER IN SUSTAINING PARKS AND TRAILS.

Our Stewards Circle members are a very special group of donors who provide indispensable financial support for the Parks & Trails Foundation activities and operations through gifts of $1,000 or more, for three years or beyond.

These contributions are crucial to our organization’s ability to continue our work strengthening the relationship between the Bainbridge community and its parks and trails. Stewards Circle members ensure that the Parks & Trails Foundation can continue to sustain and improve our treasured public natural spaces, providing a gift that will last for generations to come.

Join the Stewards Circle by making a sustained pledge to the Bainbridge Island Parks & Trails Foundation, with an annual pledge of $1000 or more for three years. As one of our closest supporters, we invite you to tailored year-round opportunities such as intimate gatherings and trail walks, campfire briefings on local initiatives, our annual gratitude reception, and recognition in our annual report.

Stewards Circle represents an investment that gives you and your family a new deeper connection to the place we call home.

Lost Valley Trail Hike

Enjoy a beautiful January walk and catch an early glimpse of trails that the Parks & Trails Foundation is working on. We’ll explore the Lost Valley Trail route, the nexus of our plan to complete an east-west, cross-island trail route.

Fay Bainbridge Park Cabins Walk

Friday, Feb. 16

Our February Exploration takes us to Fay Bainbridge Park, where we will visit the hillside cabins. We’ll learn how several of the structures were built from logs reused from a Pan-Abode bunkhouse at historic Williams-Olson Park. Then we’ll warm up around a bonfire with warm drinks at the picnic shelter.

Forest Therapy Walk at Ted Olson Nature Preserve

Thursday, March 14

Relax and unwind as we explore new ways to connect with the natural world through a mindful, multisensory walk at Ted Olson Nature Preserve, led by certified forest therapy guide Anika Binnendijk. After our walk, we will enjoy warm tea to complete our immersion in the forest.

Ways to fulfill your Stewards Circle pledge

Donor Advised Funds

Donor Advised Funds offer a flexible and tax-efficient vehicle for managing your charitable giving. Put your money to work today in support of the parks and trails of Bainbridge Island by making a generous contribution through your DAF.

Gifts of Stock

When you make a gift of stock to the Parks & Trails Foundation, there is no obligation to pay capital gains taxes on the appreciation – and you can deduct the full fair-market value of the asset from your income taxes, up to the overall amount allowed by the IRS.

IRA Distributions

If you are 72 years or older, you can make a tax-free donation directly from a traditional or Roth IRA, up to $100,000. Your gift  benefits Parks & Trails Foundation while reducing your adjusted gross income, which can lower your tax bill.

Employee Matched Giving

Many employers offer corporate matching of your charitable giving, as well as grants for volunteer hours. This professional benefit allows you to significantly expand the impact of your personal contribution to the Parks & Trails Foundation.
