Hidden Cove Dock
Revitalizing water access for swimmers, kaykers
Once a deteriorating structure in need of replacement, the dock at Hidden Cove Park was transformed into a vibrant and accessible shoreline destination, thanks to the collaborative efforts the Parks & Trails Foundation and Bainbridge Metro Parks.
The project was made possible through a combination of public and private funding. The Park District secured major support from the Washington State Recreation & Conservation Office and the Aquatic Lands Enhancement Account. The Bainbridge Island Parks & Trails Foundation raised funds locally, rallying community support and securing contributions from many private donors.
The new Hidden Cove Dock is a gathering spot for locals and visitors alike. Swimmers and paddleboarders launch from the floats, while others come simply to enjoy the peaceful views of Port Madison or sailboats coming and going from the neighboring marinas. Hidden Cove Park’s upper lawn offers a great space for picnicking and family activities, with the water connection just down the ramp.
To honor those who made the project possible, Bainbridge Island artist Michele Van Slyke created a series of stamped metal fish plaques that line the pier. These artistic touches not only beautify the structure but also serve as a tribute to the individuals and organizations who helped bring the new dock to life.
